August 4th ~ Well then, let's get going!

That would be so great.  Going somewhere.  How I relish the concept.  Don't get me wrong, I do go places.  But, only where money and fuel availability will allow.  On limited resources, this Summer travels were minimal.  My most extravagant excursions were weekday trips to morning mass at St Thomas More Church - wonderful; glad I went, but eventually had to stop going to assure we had gas available to drive the boy to his part-time job.  Another reason I stopped going to morning mass was that for first two weeks in July I was positive I would be pulled over and a re-po truck would take our Saturn Outlook (our one and only vehicle) due to fact that we were 4 months behind on payments at the time (two months caught up last week, thank God).  I had to do it... keep the car.  We are going to need it to live in. R's estimated monthly earnings from his part-time job brings in almost as much as our monthly car payment.  So, thanks son... for keeping our future roof over our heads.

Still no results from job searches, I am in constant panic.  November 7th will be a year that the hubs has been out of work.  That is only three months from now!

Goodbye July

Tomorrow isn't even here, but I could cry just thinking about it.  Senior and Freshman registration at the high school (and a lot of explaining of our "situation"), call to Consumer Credit Counseling (all hope lost getting handle on all bills), call credit union for two month extension on car payment (we're going to need it to live in), call church, counselor - somebody to get me through this!

Hoping someone will tell me how to go about getting on welfare.  I wish I had a friend here.

Going to try my best to not wake anyone up with my crying tonight.  Hope I can force some fake smiles while I'm taking care of business.  I hate tomorrow already.

Today was such a bad day.

I Love Good Food

The house smells amazing as I cook up some onions and potatoes for breakfast.  Sure, it's just past eleven a.m. - so it's breakfast for lunch, I guess.  As lovely as the aroma is - and enjoyable the meal - there's only so much you can do with an onion and three potatoes.  Today, there will also be eggs to go with the meal.  Yummy, right. Also, we are lucky to have a bit of cheese to top dish with, but no salsa.  What!  No salsa?  Uh oh... I love smothering my food with El Pinto salsas.  That's what's made eating potatoes n' onions all Summer, any time of day,  so enjoyable for me.  My trusty, delicious, salsas.

This weekend marks the time when, days from turning 19, R.J. - our household's lone wage earner - literally, becomes our care-taker.  This week will also be a first in that main course meals will consist of Ramen soups... God, please tell me a package still cost about a quarter!  With the girls starting school next week, there is no way...
